Pulse Addict was written for KlangHaus 800 Breaths, a show written by The Neutrinos and Sal Pittman and performed 42 times in the ceiling and roof spaces of London's Royal Festival Hall, Southbank throughout the summer of 2017. The show is site responsive/site specific, it uses the acoustic of the room, so capturing the recording has been challenging and a long journey! We began with live recordings by producer David Pye within the the RFH ceiling. We followed this with studio recordings by David Pye in Eve Studios, Stockport. Followed by more recordings in The Neutrinos home studio, Hades. Mixed at the Mill Studios Norfolk and mastered with Mandy Parnell at Black saloon Studios.
Angels started life in a room that was a de-commissioned industrial metal fridge, full of bluebottles due to next door, which was home to game carcasses. The song went to Hades for recording.

Pulse Addict 05:01
Pulse Addict I am a pulse addict in between the beats the beast will say it’s best to swill and swallow I am a pulse addict readily attune too soon to say to speak a mind in minutes I am a pulse addict only leaves a brittle bit between the teeth to say it’s nothing I am a pulse addict barely to the belly words the want that went… Every minute of the say I’ll circulate the spit the blood the thing occasionally spilling Every minute of the day I’ll put my fingers to the vein For life sustain decay to count sixty beats a minute Pulse pulse pulse pulse pulse Pulse pulse pulse pulse pulse I am a pulse addict static in the breathless air, where there is electricity I am a pulse addict mending everything okay the rip and trip the the dip the regulated I am a pulse addict tacitly accept the blame the lame the brain that isn’t perfect I am a pulse addict managing the three dimensional the map the way Every minute of the say I’ll circulate the spit the blood the thing occasionally spilling Every minute of the day I’ll put my fingers to the vein For life sustain decay to count sixty beats a minute Pulse pulse pulse pulse pulse Pulse pulse pulse pulse pulse And only for a lifetime is the minute beating there On air on air on air…

Angels 05:28
Angels Always search for angels in the dirty Water puddles in the doorways Down by the factory Angels tall as lamp posts under moonlight Moving lithely and so easy Round by the industry Angels, thick as thieves and slick as black ice Svelte behind the razor fencing Over by the business parks and factories Aliens, emergent miracles of retail Hawking devils in the detail Down by the shopping malls and outlets Bring in the pylons they’re my friends They’ll cross the lanes they’ll cross the fens To meet with angels stir up mud with broken men Bring in the pylons they’re my friends They’ll cross the lanes they’ll cross the fens To meet with angels sweat it out Lie back melt your heart into gold It’s impossible to sell you when you’re already sold Rise up tip your wings to the air A head full of cloudy in the middle of nowhere Lie in, dream a lifetime away Everything to talk about and nothing to say. Always search for angels in the dirty Water puddles in the doorways Down by the factory

about

The Neutrinos UK

The Butcher of Common Sense - a book. a vinyl, a cd, a show, an exhibition. A visceral journey through half worlds and half truths - a set of songs that kick, caress and bite. Conceived in a vast DDR radio studio and developed under self-imposed limitations and rules of spontaneity, it is a daring, raw, fragile and bold expression blending experimentation, art, noise, melody and kosmische attitude ... more
