Shake The Egg is mysterious, haunting and unfathomable. It came to life many years ago in the ‘Album in an Hour’ game we played in the outskirts of Berlin, in deep winter back in 2008. It has lived and breathed in many different rooms and here we captured it as one of our ‘Ordinary Things’.
Album in an hour is exactly as it sounds. We gave overselves one hour to write, record, do the artwork, mix and then listen to it on the van stereo. Most of the songs had a glimmer of an idea emerging, but Shake The Egg had some magic. Lyrics by Roz Coleman, our resident compadre in our guise at that time as the Butchers of Common Sense.
